Mentoring

In 2013 we established a mentoring scheme in collaboration with Aston University. The idea was to show students, recent graduates or newbies to the profession how we work. Mentees can visit a professional translator at home or in their office and spend a few hours learning about time management, invoicing, CAT tools, professionalism when answering emails, etc. or ask questions via phone or email.
The scheme has been running every year since 2013 and we are always happy to welcome new mentors from within the group to take care of potential future mentees.

Please contact Sarah Letza if you would like to get involved and we will try our best to match you with a suitable mentor / mentee.

Outreach at the University of Warwick 2022

A full room on the 27 October for our WMG outreach session with Warwick University translation studies students.

Students heard from Phil Jackson, our university outreach coordinator, about his everyday life as a freelance translator and about the benefits of joining both the ITI and our regional group. Sessions at the University of Birmingham and at Aston University are planned for the new year.
